So, Your Beta Guardian is now dead. But how did it die?

Let's try and lighten up the forums a little bit, shall we? Tell us all the story of how your Guardian died! Their final moments.. What were they doing? What were they thinking? So to get the ball rolling... MY Guardian died after trying to get it on with that big ol' handsome Fallen, y'know, the one that jumped on the car? Yeah.. needless to say it didn't end well. TL;DR. Don't spank a fallen.

    • My Guardian was in a tragic drunk sparrow driving accident. He got ballsy and tried to jump from the airplane wing onto the cliff in old Russia. Unfortunately he didn't make it. Damn sparrow crushed his head on impact. Don't drink and drive sparrows fellow Guardians. Not worth it.

      • My Warlock followed the path set before her. As a warlock, she had made her oath to the traveler. She would be granted its light and would reach enlightenment, and in return would set forth to ward off the darkness and spread the traveler's power. With bond on arm and magic in hand, she set forth towards the darkest corners of the Earth. Many of fallen and hive had fallen before her might. Space would bend to her will as powerful void light ruptured the very fabric of existence. among the many guardians she came across in the field, she would always fit right in. But the light given to her did not remain Bright. She went to the moon that day. The Hive were as fearsome as one could imagine. Her fireteam, consisting of her titan friend and her lifelong Hunter companion, had found themselves cornered. Low on ammo and without enough light to continue, her friends had been all but defeated. It seemed as though it was the end for them all. But as per her oath, my Warlock could not let them perish so easily. There was but one option that remained. She called to the traveler, and pleaded for a power she had not yet achieved. granted to her, she was instantly filled with an unimaginable amount of Solar energy. With newfound energy, she radiated her power right to her friends, and burned away any who came near. in that instant it was unsure if she were a guardian, the angel of death, or even hell's incarnate. Unfortunately, such power war beyond her current skills. The power of a Sunsinger is meant for those who master the light, yet she was still just an apprentice. The overflow of light severed her connection to her ghost. radiance was unable to be controlled, as she continuously fed all of her light to her friends, giving them strength in place of her life. When exhausted of all light, there was nothing left. All that remained of her was the shell of her Helmet, and the unscathed bond that once found its place upon her left shoulder. Her Fireteam, now rejuvenated from her sacrifice, had no time to mourn their loss. The hive was still a threat, and the moon was still far from reconquered. The Titan dug the charred helm deep into the white rock, as to act as a makeshift tombstone. The Hunter, still dazed by events past, picked up her bond, and tied it to his belt just opposite of his holster, so as not to forget the reason he still lives. They took one last second to collect their thoughts, scavenged the charred hive corpses for ammunition, and marched on into the gaping mouth of hell with newfound resolve.

It started off like any other day. My guardian awoke from his perch high up in the rafters of the Tower (heroes don't have real beds) to the sight of the Traveler bathed in the light of a glorious sunrise. It was the perfect sight to wake up to, and the perfect reminder that the precious city needed to be protected. He journeyed out into the wilderness of Old Russia, slaying many a foe in the process. It was truly glorious. And then, almost as if by fate, a small cavern in a cliffside caught his gaze. Being not that far away, and having no more enemies to destroy with his might, my noble Guardian decided to venture toward the small cave. Once inside he found a small chest, a relic from the Golden Age, and inside, the most beautiful looking killing utensil he had even seen. Etched on its side was the word "Thunderlord" and countless tally marks, undoubtedly the number of foes slaughtered with its power. He took it, loaded in a few rounds and shot at a Fallen Captain corpse just outside the cave. The gun's magnificent blue bolts of electricity lit up the walls of the cave and it's thunderous report echoed loudly. My Guardian was in awe. "This will do quite nicely he thought." Carefully harnessing his new found treasure to his back, and filled with a great sense of power, he started to leave the cave, ready to return to the fight against the Darkness. "Now nothing can stand in my way." And then, just as he stepped foot outside the cave a giant beast of a monster, the legendary Hallowed Ogre shot him with his Purple Laser Eyes of Death. My guardian fell to the ground, unable to even fire a single shot. As his vision faded, he could see the Hallowed Ogre, still shooting him with his Purple Laser Eyes of Death. And then, it was over.

While exploring he found an old Earth music playing device. Having had his faithful Ghost (Eddie) repair the item, he found it contained a non-corrupted song from days long passed. Eddie the Ghost powered the device and selected the "play" mode. Soul killing sounds came from the device, my Guardian fell to the ground screaming in utter pain until both he and Eddie died a horrid death. Eyes and ears bleeding, circuits frying, a scene which make me vomit to this day. As for this unholy music device of death, its deadly sounds fading to a distant echoing cry of a banchee. The only thing left was the active screen of this devise which said current artist, "Justin Bieber."

      • As part of the second wave of Guardians brought back by the Ghosts, The Awoken Titan known only as "Liberty" (In honor of the Golden Age America, as his armor was Red and White, while his skin was Blue), focused his considerable efforts on the exploration of Old Russia. He discovered many dead ghosts in the wilds, and was one of the few to make the underground run through the Hive Territory between the Industial Zone and the Grotto. Though he faced the dangers of the Earth again and again, it would be the Moon that proved to be his downfall. Surviving a flood of Hive and a hidden House of Fallen on the Moon, Liberty was exploring the Hellmouth when a distress signal went out. Three Guardians were being overrun by Hive deep inside the Mouth. Fighting through wave after wave of Acolytes, Thralls, and Knights, Liberty came upon the beleaguered defenders - A Warlock, a Hunter, and a Titan. Their light was faint, but they were alive. Firing his Butcher SA/3 Rocket launcher one final time, Liberty broke a hole through the Hive lines, opening a path to the exit. The three injured Guardians ran for their lives, but an Ogre engaged them, targeting the Warlock. Activating his Golden Gun, the Hunter shot three shots true to their mark, and killed the Ogre, but not before it fired it's beam fired at the Warlock. The Titan, however, leapt in front of the attack, sacrificing himself for his friend. As this was happening, Liberty was fighting to hold off the Horde of Hive soldiers advancing on the group. He had managed to catch up with them, and the entrance to the Hellmouth was just ahead of them, and they could see the light of the Sun starting to filter in. The Hunter was carrying the Dead Titan, his light completely faded. As they reached the surface, however, one final Ogre - one that was stronger than any other - Ran ahead of the pack. It was determined to tear them apart with it's bare hands. Liberty flew at him with his Fist of Havoc, but the Ogre caught Liberty's left arm in his hand, crushing the armor and the arm beneath it. Looking back, the Warlock started to throw a Nova Bomb, but hesitated. "DO IT!" Liberty roared. The Warlock threw the twisting, bubbling mass of Void energy at the Ogre, as Liberty channeled all of his light into his right fist, engaging the Fist of Havok. The Ogre, and the Horde behind him were burned to cinders in the blast. Unfortunately, so was Liberty. With nothing remaining of their savior, the remaining two guardians ran to their ships, returning to the Tower to bury their lost brother, and to honor the fallen Liberty. They carved this inscription on a wall in the shadow of the Last City's walls: "May the light of Liberty forever guide the last of Mankind."

      • Eh, prolly by charging in for the nth time, relying on his Titan armor to protect him long enough to smash everyone's face in...only it didn't. Was a rather common occurrence in the Beta. As for my Warlock, probably blew something up he really shouldn't have. Activated Glide too late or something and wasn't able to dodge in time.

      • My Hunter Guardian was lost in the caverns of Hive in the centre of the moon where he and I fought side by side, killing two lvl 12 Hive Knights and many endless hordes of Hive and even an Ogre. He told me to love him and run as hive finally closed in on us as the quest marker lied and we had to go out the long way, he fought bravely and covered my back. He did his duty and held off the Darkness, you will be missed my friend. And so will all that elite armor and weapons I had in my Vault for you to try out when you finally reached lvl 9 and 10. I'll continue the fight and recover your body on September 9th.

        • Mine went out watching the sunset with one of my good friends. Would have been cooler to die in action, but hey, I have no problem with a peaceful end. There will be plenty of time for destruction once he's resurrected exactly one month from now.

        • It was caused by the addiction of power. The gunslinger, wielder of the sun, corrupted by, ironically, the darkness. The power flowing through him causing him to itch for more and more, his mind being consumed by the temptation. He studied and studied, trying to unlock the secrets of the sun he had began to control. But eventually, he learned of an ability that would allow him to reach his full potential but because of his lack of experience as a guardian, he was consumed, his body disintegrated by the power that would one day be used by many that fought to achieve it.
