Get something cheap enough that it's still a starter, but do not get those cheaply squire packs from guitar center. I find that in order for me to learn effectively, I need to be inspired. I'm inspired by the sound coming from my instrument. Inspiration will help you more than any regimented routine ever will. My personal recommendation? Get an Ibanez Gio. They range from about 200-400, and are fu‏‏‏‏cking great for what you pay for them. If you want, I can help you pick out some starting equipment as well. Hit me up!
