Do you [b]have[/b] to have 6 people to start a raid, or is it just recommended?

Datmined info shows one version of the Vault of Glass with "1-6" players, but all other versions of the Vault found say just a 6. I'm not sure, I don't see why they wouldn't want to at least allow someone to try and solo it. That would be ultamite bragging rights!
