I had surgery the other day and it hurts right now so I keep staying up until like 3 AM every night.

Surgery for what? If you don't mind me asking.

Wisdom Teeth. Annoying little -blam!-ers.

How many? I'm set up to get four removed sometime this year...

I got all four out. I recommend having them put you out. I also highly recommend stocking up on the following: Oatmeal, Mashed Potatoes, Ice Cream. I have lived off of the three for the past three days. No joke, I haven't even left this couch for longer than 3 minutes at a time for three days now. I've spent the vast majority of my time sleeping, exhausted (I swear I had the flu the other day at the same time as the pain). It's OK the first day, though you're exhausted (I slept for about 40 of the first 48 hours, easily). The second day was being by far the worst. Thank God for Vicodin. You can't eat hot foods, so no hot chocolate and the oatmeal can't be heated either (heat messes with the stitches apparently). I can't even chew peas right now, hah- mainly because while I can close my lips, I can't bring my teeth together yet after three days. :P So... yeah, it hurts real bad. But there's nothing to be afraid of. You sleep for most of the time, have plenty of water, look forward to the next 6 hours when you can take another pill, and you're set. I have a bowl I'm spitting blood in, though now past the third day it's mostly just spit again- it never hurt it was just gross. As for the surgery itself, I was out before I even knew they started pumping me. Didn't wake up until it was over. Pretty solid investment there in my opinion.

I'm mostly worried about missing work and school, that's gonna suck. Thanks for the advice though!
