  • Every branch has it's own thing what I did and was set on the USMC since I was 5 now I'm 30 and earned the title, I use the team work aspect, leadership qualities and the good ole " pain is weakness leaving the body" all at work. Heavy lifting takes it toll on people. You can get the brotherhood and frat feeling from all branches as well as life long skills. Best thing to do is take the asvab look at your score and what mos possibilities you have and once that's done then decide your branch.

  • If you go USMC infantry is a pretty close knit community, but afterwards options are slightly limited to security, Police, and private contractor type jobs. 02XX field can set you up on a path to the 3 letter agencies like CIA, DOD, FBI and such. My 2 pennies.

  • That's if they intend on making a career path from military service otherwise they can take the team aspect and use it in many other lines of employment.

  • Very true, whatever you choose, just take something away from it.

  • If you go Army go for the Airborne option... it's more of a Spartan society then the rest of the Army but you'll be in good hands when it really matters

  • Depends on what you want to do, both in and after service. Every service is good in its ways, and bad in others. Find the one that works for you. But on the advice of my wife, STAY AWAY FROM MEDICAL. DO NOT BE A DOC. They'll work you to death. If you don't mind tight spaces and do well with Tech, there's Navy nuke. My old job. But it has its problems as well. High divorce rate, HIGH BS factor, etc. No matter which service you choose, make sure it's a good fit for you. Don't join the Army if you hate walking. Don't join the Navy if you hate water. Don't join the Zoomies if you want a cool uniform. Good luck, and for myself, I'm proud that some STILL want to serve.

  • It depends on what you want to do with your life after. I didn't plan on spending too much time in. I enlisted during wartime, did a few deployments, and got out. I picked a branch and career field that I could take with me.
