Anyone else dissapointed by the special event?

All we got was one mission not even the whole moon map given the mission had more story line dialogue and i felt like i was playing the game its just one mission quite frankly i feel the iron banner event was more eventful somehow the event was supposed to affect our guardians permanently was the psychological experience supposed to affect our current character till he is deleted or does that mean we get to keep our progress all these mind games just tell us straight out moon mission open on the 26th and maybe people wouldnt be so underwhelmed

I was expecting nothing more than what was described, which was some kind of in-game event of limited duration designed to encourage tons of players to logon on all at the same hour for load testing purposes. What I got: the coolest mission I played thus far and Iron Banner, plus the beta emblem at release. Your expectations were based on what exactly? Bungie never promised you any of this:
somehow the event was supposed to affect our guardians permanently was the psychological experience supposed to affect our current character till he is deleted or does that mean we get to keep our progress
So that was all internally projected by yourself and the entitled voices in the beta community. Some of us spectated that there could be more to this 2PM PDT event other than just logging on to get a future emblem and we were pleasantly rewarded for having reasonable expectations. We got MORE than we expected. See how that works? When you baseline your expectations objectively, in reality, you aren't left complaining on a video game thread about how some beta event didn't change your life. There was no way any of what you described is reasonable. You can't give a million beta testers some gameplay enhancement that they get to keep in the main game. Why? Because if its an actual enhancement the rest of the adopters, the players Bungie needs to play Destiny to be successful after all the entitled beta testers leave, would be left in the dirt with nothing. So we knew the reward would be cosmetic aka not gameplay enhancing. If you look at past beta rewards for massive online games they are always along this line i.e. a rare beta pet in World of Warcraft or a special mount item. Things that have no baring on the game itself but allow others to recognize the beta testers. We also knew from the beginning that progress would not carry over. There's a myriad of reasons why this would be totally and completely counter intuitive toward Bungie's goal, which is occuring even more people outside of beta to purchase and play their product. Why would I want to play with a bunch of entitled beta testers that got to keep their level 8s from beta? How does that make me want to play the game knowing that I am already at a disadvantage in every way the minute the game goes live? The beta cost you nothing (yes even if you paid to pre-order, pre-orders are not permanent, go get your $5 back), you deserve nothing, you should have expected nothing. Oh what's that, they gave you something? Now be happy...
