A "Satisfying Solution" for the Carry-Over Dispute:

There are legitimate reasons both For and Against in the great dispute on whether Beta-made characters and/or their gear should carry over into the final product. Most of them logical. However! I have come up with a wondrous, logical, half-baked solution that will hopefully satisfy at least half of the Guardians on the forum: You only get one transferred character. It includes all Equipped Gear, Stats, and Reputation for that character. Everything for other characters are gone. Do you find this "Solution" to be "Satisfying?"

 • I could just give one character the best items from all my characters. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a limit at all.
There are legitimate reasons... Against... Beta-made characters and/or their gear should carry over into the final product.
I have heard the following. 1. It is a Beta, not a head start. 2. It would be an unfair headstart to people that weren't in the Beta. 3. Betas don't let you carry things over. None of these seem logical to me. 1. The fact that it is a Beta is not in itself a reason not to transfer anything. That's just a statement. 2. I could say characters created in the first year of the game should be deleted because people that didn't buy the game in the first year would be at a disadvantage. There's no logic to that. If you earned it, you earned it regardless of what other people did. 3. What other games do has no effect on whether or not something should happen. That is idiotic, at best. The sole reason to not have them carry would be if Bungie changed something in release- such as the leveling progression rate or vastly altered drop rates to be lower or something. But in that case, it seems like the most logical thing to say would be, "Yes, everything should transfer unless there is one of those changes," instead of, "No."
