I had no idea about this till about 10 minutes ago so maybe a few of you won't either !
Here is the blurb.
Starting at E3 and continuing through the other big trade shows where Bungie was making appearances and getting the word out about Destiny, they started handing out a series of collector’s trading cards with places and things featured in Destiny.
On the backs of these cards were codes which, when entered in to the redeem codes section of your bungie.net account, unlocked…something. For the moment, no one outside of Bellevue knows what, but when you redeem one, it adds it to your account with the message: “Check back in 2014 to see what you’ve unlocked.” As of this writing there are 17 known codes from the card series.
What could they mean?
Given the fact that these codes are transferable, that is, they can be used more than once, they won’t be too exclusive, and likely won’t be for any over-powered weapons systems, but something is better than nothing! It could be wallpapers for characters or bits and pieces of vanity gear most likely, since Bungie will want to make you earn that Legendary status with gunfights, but no one knows for certain, and besides, free stuff! No one knows if the codes will remain redeemable after beta or launch or if they’ll have a shelf life, so the wise Guardian will get them added to their account ASAP.
