Dearest America,

Why are your people so thick? We are disappointed in the way you have grown up. For shame. Yours, England.

But seriously, how can these people deny that sea levels are rising globally, and that sea level is almost guaranteed to increase by 0.5-1.2m by 2100? One look at the data published by the IPCC will give you clear evidence that global sea levels are on the rise, and will continue to do so. Thermal expansion and the laws of natural systems dictate that sea level must rise as the global temperature does. One of the people interviewed says that she does not care for the information because the scientists "do not live [t]here", and so she writes off the report as useless to them. She claims that she might not know what is going on in Europe, but that she knows what's going on there from "the feel of it". I mean, how moronic do you have to be? Global sea level rise means the sea level rises across the globe, not just in pockets. Holy shit I'm mad. Discuss.

 • Well, obviously not all of us here think that, but there are enough people drinking the Republican kool aid for it to look that way. Problem is, a lot of people know that changing climates on Earth is natural and they dismiss it as such and that there's little or no need for people and companies to reduce their environmental impact. They just don't get that human activities do affect the climate of Earth very directly. They don't think twice about deforestation or their 450 ppm emissions coming from their car, and, in a way, for good reason. They can't see tangible results in short periods of time, and they think that they're doing nothing wrong, and they don't believe in the idea of global warming or climate change because both are misnomers which suggest that human activity is the only factor changing the environment. We're also not feeling the impact of current human activity, not even from the past 30 years. That's why we have anti-environmentalists using graphs and charts that show that climates on Earth have hardly changed and that human activity is harmless. What people don't realize is that, like I already mentioned, we haven't begun to fully feel the effects of human activity and their true impact on Earth's various climates, and unfortunately, many won't be convinced until they're directly affected years down the line.
