All them studied on earth, John was trained in space ship gunnery, while Sarah was groomed to be a Officer and Scott learned studied electronics and mechanics. John was assigned to the ship "Virtus sine macula" after he graduated. Sarah still undergoing her Officer education spends some time on the "Virtus sine macula". Scott is sent to Mars first and works on various machines including defence towers and hydrofarms. About roughly the same time Sarah and John's ship are station at Mars. Sarah is handed leadership of the Martian Dust Devils while John remains a gunner aboard the "Virtus sine macula". During a shift of Guard duty with her subordinates, a tower breaks down and she calls for a technician to come and fix it. Scott arrives at the tower and proceeds to repair it. On his way back to the City he asks Sarah to accompany him to the Martian Ball. She agrees, with help of the women of the MDD gets all dressed up for the occasion. She eventually finds him all dressed up in a officer-esque uniform. They dance to his favourite song under the Martian sky. After he takes her to an observatory room to watch the sky go by. Until he's called to an emergency at another tower. The next day hell breaks loose and aliens attack mars. John is rapidly recalled from his shore leave and strapped into his gunners station. John gains a 154 confirmed kill count before the "Virtus sine macula" is hit several times forcing the crew to evacuate. As Johns pod heads to mars its grazed by a stray shot and is incinerated by re-entry. Sarah is rudely awoken from her night before and is forced into action. She gets the MDD to secure the civilian populace and prepare to defend the city. Scott defies the evac order and takes the equipment of a dead soldier. He saves Sarah from a alien commander. Sarah and Scott along with the rest of the MDD fight off many aliens in several skirmishes. With the last one being fought with 40 of the surviving MDD. Sarah is stabbed by and alien sword, Scott with the last of his ammo blows the aliens brains out. He holds her and tries to soothe her mind and comfort her passing before being killed himself.
