as Apple users did NOT make Bungie into who the are TODAY... the Xbox community did. That's a fact!.
That may be a fact though your being selective over the facts. Microsoft owns Halo and pretty much always has considering the contract that Bungie signed with Microsoft that strictly limited Halo to the Xbox.
So... If Halo was a multi-platform game, I'm sure it would still be doing just fine. *rubs in face and smiles while walking away*

You're speaking hypothetically as a counter towards my facts? How does that work again? Also, it make sense if Sony had Destiny/Bungie exclusive to the Playstation, but not a multiplat. In addition, if you don't seem to understand the fans that are upset about this current shaft... how would PS gamers feel if Naught Dog left Sony, started a new multiplat game and then gave Xbox community exclusive betas, and content one year ahead of Sony community? How would they/you feel about that?
-
What's so hypothetical about my statement? And counter? All I did was add on to your facts and clearified. If you go to Bungies FAQ you will see that the Halo franchise is owned by Microsoft. I have read a lot of what people have written in these forums about feeling"betrayed". They also clearify that Halo was their reason for purchasing an Xbox. Before you get "hurt" by me, I know that I'm not talking for those people and that it doesn't count for every Xbox owner out there. But the fact remains Halo sold itself. Not Xbox, it just happen to only be available on Xbox. As for naughty dog and other exclusive developers, I would honestly buy whatever system they were for if I really wanted to play them.

Your hypothetical was IF Halo was multiplat... you really can't say how well it would have done on Playstation, especially considering the PSN back then compared to XBL. It's a silly hypothetical actually. I'll just end with this... there would be NO Destiny if it wasn't for the Xbox, Live, or it's community, period. That's a fact!
-
If Bungie had stayed with MS there would be no Destiny as MS wanted Bungie to only work on Halo.
-
Your right. I can't say how well it would do on playstation. Although... I can't think of any multi-plat game that only sold on one console. Can you? And why do you think that live was better than psn when Halo began? And how do you figure that destiny wouldn't be around if the xbox community didn't exist?
-
Uh, what!? Read what you just typed... of course the is no possible way to name a multilat game that only sold on one console... that doesn't even make sense! 8-/ Live was light years ahead of PSN back when Halo began. The broadband only compared to PSN, the infrasturue of XBL compared to PSN, the number of members/gamers/larger community, etc., etc. It's a common agreed upon opinion, but clearly you don't think so for some reason. Bungie got their real recognition, clout, financial base, and community fanbase that purchased their games in droves from the Xbox community, which thrived on XBL. Being able to system link the original Xbox to play Halo was ground breaking in the console scene. Anyway, I can go on and on, but again, clearly you would not think so for some reason. Just like Naughty Dog wouldn't be who they are today if it wasn't for the PS fanbase. So again, if ND left Sony and heavily favored Xbox community, I'm sure you would understand how some feel at this moment... well unless you are truly a fanboy and would just lie to save face.

Alright, so Microsoft was able to build more around the internet infrustructure which makes sense considering it costed the players money in order to use the live service. I'm sure you can go on. I was simply asking you to clearify cause I didn't care to follow much of the online connectivity back then. And yes bungie thrived with the xbox community because halo is an exclusive with Microsoft because of the contract. So you have no way of telling me that halo would fail if it wasn't with Microsoft. Jeeze man. I totally understand what your saying but damn... Microsoft owns halo and is only for Xbox. So yeah it's really obvious that bungie got recognition, fan base and money from the xbox community. Kill zone, uncharted, the last of us etc. I'm sure would do just same on the xbox community. Stop thinking that I'm some sort of "fan boy". It's rude and arrogant. I just wanted to add to your original post. I'm sorry you thought I was arguing with you...
-
Pot meet kettle... yet you go and call me a "fanboy" in another thread!? Who's the rude and arrogant person here now?
-
Oh wow, there is a BIG difference, thanks for pointing that out for me. :-/ I am a gaming fanboy (I always owned all consoles) that loves Bungie and developers more so than hardware companies.
I wouldn't be wrong...
