To be honest I just want to make my character perfect so I don't spend an hour creating my character on September 9th. Maybe also familiarize myself with the controls so I am not completely useless, although I play a lot of FPS' so I think I'll be fine.

You'll be fine man. I played the alpha for 4 days and the controls are silky smooth and extra intuitive.
