User passwordiztaco7 made a good question by asking iwhy there were no assassinations in Destiny. I think that they are a must. They can add lots of fun to the game.
Pros:
- It looks frigging awesome. I love sneaking up on people in BF4 and stabbing them and picturing the shock on their face. (I'm not a psychopath I swear)
- It adds uniqueness to PvP
Cons:
- There is not much stealth in Destiny, so you wouldn't end up using it much.
I think just like splitscreen, it should just be an option. It shouldn't be a huge part of the game, it should just be there to have just in case.
P.S: I think each class should have 2 unique assassinations.

The Crucible is supposed to be a competitive arena. Assassinations are purely cosmetic, in which adding a cosmetic activity that takes more time to kill is counterproductive to the ultimate goal of slaying/surviving. They have no place in the Crucible. In the PvE setting, meh, who cares...
