Most of you might not remember, but last summer, I did a big Q&A of Halo lore. So, I thought I'd make this an annual occurrence around E3.
Basically, if you want to test my knowledge of Halo lore or want something in Halo's story explained, ask it here!
Feel free to PM me questions when this thread dies down too!

Two, age-based. How old was Johnson when he died, and how old would Thel 'Vadam be by 2558?
-
Hang on, the Spirit of Fire's been mentioned in new material? Cool. What's the word on that.

Edited by Flawless Cowboy: 6/13/2014 9:25:37 AMHow in the hell did Earth's defenses fail in the autumn of 2552? 300 of the most powerful ODP stations in fiction plus Home fleet support should have kicked some serious ass. (Please don't say the Covenant planted anti matter bombs on every single ODP station.) I know Covenant ships are generally more maneuverable than any comparable craft, but Regret's expeditionary fleet should have been pulverized space debris inside the first hour. EDIT: Also, please explain why the ODP grid's petaton kinetic yield is completely ineffectual against the Mantle's Approach while a simple mining survey charge annihilates it? This, along with the inexplicable armor change in Halo 4 endlessly infuriates me. Double Meta Edit: Is this the new Universe Forum as well? If so, cool.

Book-wise, can Kurt-051 be considered more experienced than Master Chief?

Edited by Dildact: 6/12/2014 11:49:25 PMWhy does the club in New Alexandria have 3 helicopter pads, but the Hospital has none? Why is the human architecture so impractical? In Halo 2 there is a large opening in the underground highway that leads directly to a sewer which leads to a park and then to the city. I can't see how this is effective as a sewer given the entrance and exit, and if its not intended to be a sewer then why does it look so much like one? Anyway, this park has large monolithic slabs of concrete and concrete platform with no guardrails. There are no cameras whatsoever so this is likely an ideal place to commit murder or hide a body. Later on before you board the Scarab there is this room with a deep pit of water and a large container that couldn't have fit in through the doors. The water pit is too narrow for a sub or boat, and even if one could fit there then what would it do? If it transported cargo that would be impractical as the only exits have several flights of stairs behind them .The purpose and function of this room has eluded me for many years.

Hehe. Over the past year I've pretty much asked you all my questions. :P
-
Now that the spirit of fire is carrying the flood, do you think the three Spartans aboard managed to survive?
-
Why does 3fail3's work break so much canon?
-
Why was the Assault Rifle removed from Halo 2?
-
How did the grave mind on 05 form?
-
How did the flood survive the first activation of the halo rings
-
Here is something I haven't been too clear on. Is the Primordial and The Timeless One the same being?
-
Would an Elite drown if they submerged their head under water? 'Cos I mean they can't really seal their mouths shut water tight, and their throat is just sort of open at the back, with nothing to stop water gushing down it.
-
Just a n00b question. The four nets were the most powerful beings in the galaxy, with insanely OP weapons and ships. So how did the flood/ancient humans destroy them?
-
How large would you say the flood onslaught will be when humanity is tested? Like Forunner-Flood War big? Bigger?

id ego superego + cosmic halo + personal halo = subtext portraying what philosophy in the haloverse?

What happened to all the Anti-UNSC revolutionists? Did they just quit?
-
I've got some long ones, to prepare for MCC and 5 :) What is the exact number of glassed UNSC planets? I have heard anywhere from hundreds to as little as in the twenties (from Harvest I believe, but other books say there were hundreds, is there a source that confirms a solid estimate?). How many casualties (civilian and military) are known? >The main question I want to know based off the previous is, have any canon sources indicated UNSC plans of recolonization? There must be a far lesser amount of habitable planets now since the Covenant destroyed most of them. >Also I was a little confused with the forerunner books, was the origin of the timeless one confirmed? (I heard he was a precursor, or a flood version of a precursor, or just the flood pretending to be a precursor). Were the flood confirmed to have been created by the precursors to "test" civilizations? >Finally, do we know what any of the surviving Spartan IIs are doing (during the Halo 4 events)? IIRC the only survivors were trapped in the Dyson Sphere, but what did they do once they were released (or has this not been stated yet?). I don't remember the date of the UNSC getting into the Onyx Dyson Sphere to save those trapped inside but it was a little before 4 right?

Wow.. I thought I was a lore hound. I know almost nothing about the forerunners, but I read all the non forerunner related novels
-
It's been a while since I've read the books and played the games. But in anticipation of playing MCC, what happens between Halo CE and Halo 2?
