I've been a Bungie fan since '01, so I may be a bit biased, but I absolutely love the game. I've played the game for hours on end even though we basically only have one zone to explore. And the armor customization is cool. You find these items called "Engrams" in the field that can be turned in for armor at the Tower. We cap out at level 8 though, so I found a bunch of cool armor I can't wear. :( As for changing the color, you can absolutely do that with shaders. Shaders are an item you apply to your Guardian that will change the color palette of your armor. I got a shader for the New Monarchy faction, and it looks badass.
