Option 1: A simple port of the campaign only. This means no graphical enhancements. You're basically playing Halo 2's single player on Xbox or Vista on Xbox One. No graphical enhancements whatsoever. Option 2: A simple port of the entire game, campaign and all. This means that it would basically be Halo 2, the full game, ported to Xbox One, with, again, no graphical enhancements whatsoever. Option 3: Halo 2's campaign only, but with graphical enhancements. It would be exactly like H:CEA: a graphically-enhanced, HD campaign. Option 4: A graphically-redone Halo 2. The full game, MP and all, graphically enhanced. No "under the hood" changes. Pretty much H:CEA, but with MP and every other feature originally with Halo 2. Option 5: A graphically-redone Halo 2, the full game, with minor "under the hood" internal changes. Basically, it would be the exact same game, but with some internal changes so 343i could do things like disable/change certain bugs/glitches that were notorious in Halo 2. This is nothing like H:CEA, since changes, even if very minor, would be made to the original game.
Before I continue, I should note that the above is the most likely, as Frankie already said that IF a H2A existed, changes would be made to disable the notorious gitches.
Option 6: A completely redone Halo 2. This would mean not only graphical updates, but updates to many different internal and external game workings. This may include "finishing" the campaign, or adding additional features such as more in-depth player service records, a new or altered ranking system, Forge mode, etc. This is the least likely to receive the "classic mode." Finally... Option 7: No Halo 2 Anniversary at all. Do not check this option if you still believe that some sort of "Master Chief Collection" will release, as that would more likely be #1 or #2. At the very least it would be #1.
Option 5:
Unlike Halo CE the game has the coding for Xbox Live. Since the 360 was able to play the game on Live than the coding for it shouldn't be that extreme to change to Xbox One servers. The MP is what made the game, not the campaign. Then for fixing the game it doesn't matter if it's a remake. Releasing a game that broken today is just retarded especially when they know what to fix and they have the time for it. Also I think a little of option 6 could be in it. Things like the Flood Juggernauts are already programed into the game. The only thing they are missing is the death animation.
