The Devils' Lair: New HUD Elements

Other than the Super Bar, which got its own post, there were a few new HUD elements in this video. First, notice the icons next to the ammo counts. Possibly indicating different ammo types or modifiers. Here, we see the Ghost icon. It appears whenever the ghost is talking, and could potentially indicate that there's something the ghost can do. While the player is deploying the Ghost, we see several HUD elements appear. First the current objective. While not strictly a new element, it's much more visible in this video. We also see our current location. This element is temporary, and goes away after a moment. In this same scene we also have some button options. Triangle apparently brings us back to orbit. I'm guessing square was used to deploy the ghost, but is also mapped to something else, which cannot be summoned in this location. What might that something be? We find out a moment later when the button label changes: A vehicle. We also get a nice view of the waypoint indicator. Here's the full scene for those interested. And another image that includes the waypoint indicator. Here, notice the radar doesn't display enemies as discrete points. Rather it displays more of a general area, indicating direction, and minimal range information. When a guardian's health got sufficiently low, the guardian's health bar appeared at the top of the screen. Once revived, the bar remained blue for a short period of time, possibly indicating a period of invulnerability. After, it turned white, before disappearing again. [Thanks Rafiki and vXFiddlerXv for your comments on this.] Here, we see what happens when your ammo is full. Here, we see the opposite of a critical hit: Resist.

 • FWIW, the "Resist" messages that kept popping up with the Hive Wizard seemed to coincide with its damage absorption (the little yellow bar above its Health.) Once that was gone, it went down pretty quick. I'd say it has the same function as a Fallen Captain's Absorption Shield.
