Appears to be the "Boss" of Devil's Lair. I find it vaguely similar to 343 Guilty Spark only larger and much more menacing. While attempting to hack the mesh generator you can hear the player's Ghost reveal that...

Edited by Nick the Slick: 4/29/2014 2:12:56 AMI noticed that it seems to be sucking up the souls of the Fallen that are killed in there. I wonder if it empowers their Darkness. The guy at the start of the trailer did say they were going in there to prevent the Fallen from powering up. Of course it could just be him implying your going into one of their strongholds.
