Halo 4's OST was one of the controversial aspects of the game (let's face it, a lot of things about the game were controversial). There were some people who liked it, and there were also some who didn't. Some people thought it was a good step in the evolution of Halo's soundtracks, others thought it strayed too far from Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori's violin-riff-laden scores. I liked it, though. It did set the mood for each scene, like with the past games, although not with every song. I think that Neil Davidge and Kazuma Jinnouchi actually did a good job, although they could have done a little better. In fact, most of the songs that sounded almost like Marty were by Kazuma. He even made his own version of one of "Never Forget" from Halo 3 (admit it, you know that was awesome). Maybe if it had a different composer, Halo 4's OST might not have been so "controversial". But still, I thought it left a pretty good impression. Maybe the next game should have someone else to compose the score, though... I ask you, the fans of Halo (hopefully some still remain...), to choose from the choices above and pick whether you want to 343i to keep Halo 4's composers, or if you would like a different composer, for the next game. I would say definitely keep ND and KJ, but if I wanted to choose a different composer, I would pick either Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Skyfall) or John Ottman (Superman Returns, Astro Boy). What are your thoughts?

 • The guy who was composer for Halo wars. Even Ensemble Studios understood that a Halo game, without Marty's theme won't be a Halo Game. Unlike 343i. Or just stay with Michael Salvatori, he has made very good tracks too!
