I just caught up to this news. Man that is tough. I was a huge fan of O’Connell—I hope he lands a good job continuing to make good music. It sucks that things ended badly between him and Bungie but I guess he can go to 343 Industries and make music for Halo 5(?). I would love for Destiny to have music composed by Jack Wall (Mass Effect 1 & 2) or Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco (Mass Effect 3). We’ll see.

1 ReplyEdited by CeIestial Demon: 4/16/2014 11:26:24 AMBungie needs to hire and psychologist, and these so called "directors" need to stop seeing everything as black and white and money laced... because given the following bungie has and how every member seems to have such a huge importance on the whole "family, community, friendship" shpeel they sell us in their podcasts and updates.. this could snowball into degenerating the very views and scope us followers, admirers, and gamers of bungie have on the company and their games.. a psychologist would have interpreted this outcome and possibly, if one could gauge, "hype-ness" and or "excitement" about destiny, (I also have to add that for people that dont even know who Marty is, this can affect them because people will more likely follow this online herd behavior) then it has obviously been shot down a degree or 3.. I honestly dont know if it was justifiable or not, but if somehow the "Directors" and all their brains and flashy money could see this, I would just like to say to them. Good job at trying to ruin something many people are or "were" looking forward to.. the community drives the community in almost all aspects.. you guys have nothing but paperwork to handle and are of (to us) no importance... we view the people in bungie that we have gotten to know over the years as important, their work, as important.. not you.. so next time you decide to make a fatal mistake, maybe think it through (from all angles) and possibly try to resolve it a better way.

I have a lump in my throat right now, this made me really, really sad. Actually crying all over my keyboard. Seems silly right? Video game music... But Marty's melodies made me dream, escape, in my favorite games. I'm sure he'll be fine, he's one of the most talented composer in that genre. Still so sad that Destiny won't have his magical music in the future. Time to turn that page I guess.
