I liked the system of stamina in Skyrim, as it made the player have to use some strategy, in contrast to "spraying and praying." However, I don't really see how this could work for guns, so maybe it could only apply for melee weapons, such as power attacks and parrying... What do you guys think?

Only if Stamina is placed on the Ai. Skyrim is just outright annoying on how fast enemies can run you down or strike while you're puffing away trying to defend yourself. I like a good strategy also in my games, but I hate when a game has to overpower the Ai to simulate difficulty instead of tactics like sniping from behind a rock, rushing, or flanking. If its a fair trade off in where the Ai have to slow down and rest then sure, but... Bungie's Ai are fast bullet sponges and can dish a ton of respawning enough as it is without us being handicapped by stamina caps.

They need to implement Dark Souls like stamina system.

Well think of it this way. A super powerful titan with a rocket launcher should not be able to run, let alone run as long as a hunter with a pistol. I am sure some kind of stamina system based on weapon and armor type will be incorporated. Maybe not like Skyrim, but more like a movement speed based on what you are carrying (like the difference in Skyrim between how fast you can move with an empty inventory compared to when you are encumbered).

No. We don't even know if swords are equipable yet.

Elite Soldier infused with the Traveler's powers. Can only sprint for 10 seconds. Honestly, I don't know if stamina belongs in this game.

I don't want stamina for gun firing...I wouldn't mind it on sprinting and speed swimming. OH stamina on jumping too because those idiots in games that bounce around in circles while derp firing their gun annoy me and need to die xD

You can implement stamina for guns via afflicting certain gun mechanics. For example, a lower stamina would result in increased recoil, inaccuracy, or dampened ADS. Melee combat and stamina have a very special relationship in videogames that feature them in that the distribution has to be just right: actions, spending, and weapons need to have fluid or at least reasonable stamina allocation Gun-wise, the stamina system wouldn't work. In that context, Destiny doesn't really need stamina or mechanics that make gunplay any more difficult than it really has to be. It doesn't need any more game mechanics than it should because it would detract from what's important at hand: solid gameplay. Melee-combat is more understandable because it seems to be an inherency with many in-depth melee system. However, if we take a look at the little gameplay we've seen of melee combat, such as the hunter using her knife, we can see that it's very fast, sharp, and precise. It appears to be a skill but to me it sets up the tone of melee combat. The reason why it worked in games like Skyrim and Dark Souls is because the gameplay was integral to stamina, but Destiny in all honestly appears to be going for a very fast-paced foundation. As for movement, that's totally up in the air to me. Things like sliding, gliding, blinking, even abilities if it doesn't have it's own separate meter: I don't really have much of an opinion on yet, however I can still acknowledge that they're validate topics.

Seems like people doesn't like this idea, but I do. However, trying to apply this to a shooter could cause some issues. I would set a limit for sprinting, but much longer than in Halo or CoD.

No It's gonna be to Much like Skyrim then ppl Are Start saying they copied that

Most definitely not. Players can't spray and pray anyway cause enemies will be too smart and dangerous for it to work - this is a Bungie game, not CoD!
