So I had this discussion with my dad and he was highly agianst it. So I was wondering what the flood thinks. Feel free to fight amongst yourselves.
I love to read fights. Sorry I'm horrible.

Hey guys thanks for the awesome feedback. Thought I might shed some light in the actual dictionary term for marriage: marriage — noun 1) a legally, religiously, or socially sanctioned union of persons who commit to one another, forming a familial and economic bond: Anthropologists say that some type of marriage has been found in every society, past and present. 2a) the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. 2b) a similar institution involving partners of the same gender, as in gay marriage; same-sex marriage
Apathy is the best attitude to have. "I'm heterosexual!" Don't care. "I'm homosexual!" Don't care. If the government took this approach when dealing with straight/gay marriage we'd be better off. Don't make it a religious issue. Don't make it any kind of issue at all.

  • I'm going to paraphrase something someone else said on the internet. Leviticus states that two men laying together as a man and a woman would is a sin. Leviticus. Leviticus was basically the rules the hebrews had to live by to gain redemption for the first sin, IE adam and eve eating the apple. However, when Jesus died on the cross he said "It is done" signalling that humans no longer had to live by those rules, and must only live there life in his image of kindness and forgiveness, to be granted passage into heaven. This means that people who use the bible, and specifically Leviticus against certain rights, have much more negative religious implications then they realize. I also believe in complete separation of religion and the state, and that ANYONE who has any pull in the decisions of the state should be removed from office if they have ever shown any indication of making a decisions based on religious beliefs. It is biased, and is not the best thing for this country. Also, in case the first paragraph is inaccurate, I apologize, again i was paraphrasing from another person online.

I never quite understood the philosophy behind "It's Adam and Even, not Adam and Steve" and similar arguments. Are you trying to use the existence of Adam and Eve to disprove that homosexuals don't exist? That they're somehow "wrong"? Assuming Adam and Eve existed, what does it matter what the first human beings did?

It's Adam and Eve! Not 2 boys. God gave Adam a girl for a reason!

As far as I'm concerned, there is only one marriage which is fair to everyone (or at least should be), which is that performed or issued by the state in some manner (ie. marriage certificate/license) for additional benefits (such as for taxation purposes, etc...) wherein each party in the marriage agrees to it under the law. As an aside, I don't see the point in marriage. Love is what's important, marriage is not*. I also can't help but shake the idea that some people might not believe that a couple is really "in love" or "a couple" until they're married. This is ridiculous. If someone really loved someone else, they aren't going to let something like not being permitted to marry stop them from being together. If religious people want to have their "clubhouse marriage" where they "marry under God" or whatever, I don't see how that's any different from any other group, organisation, sect, cult, etc... having their own idea of what marriage is and having a similar ceremony or none at all. I don't have a shred of a problem with them doing that, but I do have a problem when a group that has a particular ideology of their own "clubhouse rules on marriage" who want to have it applied universally to everyone, even if others are not part of the club, nor invited or eligible, nor want to be part of it. * Again, apart from state benefits, which each party should be entitled to receive

If a straight person was caught being outside, a mob of soldiers would come and beat the shit out of them then throw them back inside.

                                • At the end of the day does it really matter? If two people are in love let the get married. Let them raise kids. I mean whose to say two men or two women are better or worse at raising a child than a "normal" couple. Just leave them be and stop being a twat.

                                  • The way I see it is, if single parents are okay, how is adding a second parent of the same somehow bad? Also, if two men or two women love each other allowing them to marry or not isn't going to stop them from doing so so you might as well allow them to get married. Banning gay marriage only makes sense if being gay were a crime.

                                  • I'm not against gays or lesbians, but a marriage is between man and woman. And kids should have a dad and a mom, not two dads or two moms, I don't care if there is always love, it's not normal. I would expose my opinion better but I don't speak English very well so... that's it.
