With as many people that will be in Destiny, it would be very difficult to arrange something such as that and keep up with it on top of all the unique guardians you'll run into. Plus, Destiny is leaning more towards FPS than RPG, so some generic elements from that genre, such as building your own house, are less likely to show up. You can view your personal ship as a house, if you want.
