It is my hope that this game will transform you into an FPS player, if not an avid Bungie community member. I;m certain that destiny will have something for everybody, including avid adventurers such as yourself. As for me, I'm looking towards getting a good Fusion Rifle.

The strongest reason for me not playing FPS is the competitive mulitplayer. I suck, therefor I die so much i dont even have the chance to reload my weapon. Since this will be almost exclusively co-op for me I expect to enjoy this game much more. Bungie has impressed me so far, and I don't think I can conceive of what this game will be in the not so distant future, other than extraordinary.

I was initially not an FPS player myself, and have played few to name. Borderlands 2 and Halo Reach were my training programs. I only got decent at FPS because of weekly game sessions with my friends, and not merciless online communities. I understand the frustration of where you come from, and hope the cooperative campaign will give you key skills that you can implement in PvP, should you ever attempt. Thoroughly wish you excitement.
