Yeah, I knew that. And an academic being a socialist isn't all that surprising. If you look at some of the non-market based economic theories that roughly fall under socialism, they're essentially big math problems. Production, labour, consumption, etc, are all variables that can be controlled in these cases, as opposed to capitalist systems, where all of this is essentially random. Obviously, that's going to make sense to someone with a math background.
