No pets. That's what your ghost is for. Yes to swords. Doubtful on claymores. This isn't some generic "cater to everyone" FPS like CoD. Their will be no more races for players, at least not right now. Their appears to be significant variation in enemy races though, which is good.

So why do we only get the beta for so short but PlayStation gets it for longer? ???

Because Bungie needs to introduce the Playstation Community to the Bungie Community. They offer incentives like extra time. Also, Sony probably payed Activision money for the privilege.
