My biggest fear is that Destiny is an ONLINE ONLY game, where you cannot play without internet access!
I recently moved to an area with absolutely horrid internet services, and the only acceptable internet will have data usage limits.
So will there be an option of playing Destiny offline, for at least parts of the game (for when the data usage is all used up...)
Links to confirmed information would be great!

Edited by RomDog: 3/1/2014 8:44:28 PMI wonder how many individuals know that Destiny will be an Always Online game, people without Internet just see the poster at GameStop and see Bungie's name like "Didn't they make Halo? That was a huge success, this game should be good too." *goes in to preorder* The poster doesn't inform people that the game -Requires an Internet Connection- at all times. So come release day people go pick up their game. They see something never before seen on a Console game. The words
Internet Connection required to play at all times
on the box cover. I can't wait

well tbh this is a borderline mmo game so perma online is how it is, sorry that you have a bad online area. cant you move again?.. you know its destiny, Bungie and all that

It's the coming trend, or actually already here; always online always connected. I don't have a smartphone, and I'm probably screwed if I don't get one in the coming years. Oh technology

It's sad that people are so willing to accept an always-online game. But I'd be surprised if there isn't at the very least offline competitive play. I'm really hoping Bungie figures out a way to let gamers have a decent experience when their internet, MS or Sony's, or Bungie's own servers are down. Pretty inexcusable to have a useless game when your own servers aren't up, IMO. I want to have faith that they'll offer something, but I've been burned before. Just gotta wait and see.

What're the data limits? Gaming uses tons of data.

There is no offline mode. Sorry

Nope. Destiny is always online. You cannot play offline.
-
I'm guessing no. Sorry, mate.
