Let's Talk About Syria
Above is an excellent, four-minute video that explains the situation in Syria, what the importance of the war is to the US, and how it has affected the region and the people of Syria.
The conflict is something I've been following relatively closely and I feel like I have a pretty solid understanding of the conflict. I want to know what your guys' thoughts are, though. I'm bored and I feel we haven't discussed this topic since we were about the bomb them back in August.
Do you care about the situation in Syria?
If so, how closely do you follow it?
What are your general thoughts on the conflict?
Do you take a side?

Since we are, or were, largely getting cockblocked by China(?) and Russia for supporting Assad, there wasn't much we could do besides supplying arms to the rebels. [quote]What are your general thoughts on the conflict?[/quote] It's an all around -blam!-ed up situation with almost all of the blame falling on Assad's head for responding to demands for changes in the government with bullets. [quote]Do you take a side?[/quote] Rebels. [quote]If so, why? [/quote] Because Assad is a tyrannical regime that responded to an Arab Spring uprising by killing people wholesale.
