• Red Dead Redemption. Not because it is necessarily better, and not because it will get you more hours of gameplay. But due to the fact that if you don't purchase Dark Souls with the express, willing, totally on your own decision, then you will feel nothing but bitterness when it finally opens up your third butthole.

    • I had the same dilemma, and chose Red Dead, and wish I hadn't. It plays really slow, and really doesn't have a lot to do.

    • RDR is garbage its all fetch quests and the world is absolutely empty compared to skyrim, the witcher, or oblivion. Most bounty missions are to identical location with identical bandit set ups. Gameplay is ruined by Rockstars stupidly generous auto aim making red dead a game that's not even remotely challenging if you are a videogamer.

      • Hey people thanks for the input and comments. Last Monday I decided to purchase Dark Souls and I played it over the weekend. I feel confortable to say I am happy with my purchase yay. Dark Souls reminds me of a 1999 game I played called Drakan: Order of the Flames, gets me all nostalgic and shit. Mythical creatures and medieval settings are the shit :) Combat system feels fantastic, great learning curve. And lots of death that's very true, sucks that i don't have Gold so i have to play in offline mode and i don't get all the tips other players leave behind. Other than that, good stuff good game, I know it'll only get better.

      • Both are great games, but be wary of people that want to call Red Dead Redemption terrible because it was developed by Rockstar, and keep an eye out for people that want to bash on Dark Souls because it's PvP isn't always fair

Red Dead is real fun, compelling story etc. Good multiplayer. Dark Souls isn't exactly "fun" all the time but you won't be able to stop playing. Great multiplayer. Red Dead is good but overrated

      • Not denying that Red Dead is good, but Dark Souls is so much better. One of my favourite games of all time.

      • Red Dead is really overrated. It's good, and I think it's worth a try, but it's not one of the greatest games ever (in my opinion) which everyone seems to treat it as.

      • Damn dude, both of those games in my top 10 favorite games of all time list. Toss a coin, and when you've beaten one, get the other one next.

      • Red Dead Redemption won't frustrate you as much or make you regret spending the money on it so long as you can tolerate the pitfalls and crap constantly, but I had more time in Red Dead Redemption myself.

      •
Read Dead Redemption is boring as shit, no amount of story makes up for piss poor gameplay
Dark souls is great all around and pretty much a must buy at this point.
