•
Reality: Separation of Church and State, or in other words, your book doesn't affect my laws.
That is genuinely one of the best things I have ever heard on b.net:)

reality: 50 years ago, marijuana was illegal, abortion was illegal, assisted suicide was illegal, sex with animals I think was illegal, having a gun to protect yourself was LEGAL, disciplining one's child was LEGAL.. etc. the laws are -blam!-ed and are/will continue to get worse, but you can hide behind them all you want and continue to be controlled and manipulated until your humanity and rights are lost as well. We dont care.

  •
reality: 50 years ago, marijuana was illegal
Actually, reality was that it was perfectly legal until a study shown that it impaired judgement. But you wouldn't know that, because you're trying to make me look wrong.
abortion was illegal,
Lolprolife. Abortions still happened at least now, if a woman wants an abortion, it's done safely by a professional who isn't going to scour her insides with who knows what.
assisted suicide was illegal
Still is. Technically Suicide itself in any form is illegal. The only punishment though for a dead person is that their life insurance is voided.
sex with animals I think was illegal
Still illegal. However people are smarter than 50 years ago. A Florida man got away from charges on a technicality. The law never said "Oral sex" was illegal.
having a gun to protect yourself was LEGAL
Still legal. Only now we aren't -blam!-ing retarded enough to just give everyone and their sociopathic cousin a weapon.
disciplining one's child was LEGAL
Still legal. But you probably don't know the difference between discipline and abuse.
the laws are -blam!-ed and are/will continue to get worse
yeah. There are some -blam!-ed up laws. Did you know there's a state where you can't park your giraffe next to a street lamp? Or that in Florida, you can't sing on a beach if you're wearing a swinsuit?
but you can hide behind them all you want and continue to be controlled and manipulated until your humanity and rights are lost as well
. You actually think you have rights. TOPLOL. But it's not the fact that the bible isn't the base for law that we don't have any rights. That's the humanity to blame. Human error.
We dont care
. Nah. I think that you're just a little too ignorant to realize that the world would be a lot worse off if a religious text were held in the same legal regards as the law. I mean. Just look out at the world. Saudi Arabia. Where because of traditions based on their religion, society dictates that women are essentially slabs of meat to be fed until they aren't useful any more. I mean. How would you feel if your dad could just viciously thrash you and the rest of your household, legally I might add, as long as he invoked the right combination of words like "They were possessed by the Devil! Talking nonsense! It was all I could do to beat it out of them!". That's the kind of reality that you're trying to put in a good light.

  • ALL of these things still happened bro..what im saying is that now they are being legalized and I LOL'ed at you having to go on the internet and find scraps of info about each one. Ill aslo add that the bible isnt built of "laws", there are only such things built by people. And Saudi Arabia and about 100 different places and religions believe in the same thing, relatively, but each may manipulate what they read and infuse their own personal vendetta's and corrupted minds into what they are reading and or trying to follow to make the -blam!-ed up way they live "right" by their laws. The bible itself says nothing about being able to abuse someone, nor does it say anything about being able to kill someone under the context of "he was possessed". Also, trying to blame the bible for how women are treated in less civilized countries doesnt make sense when thats how women were treated EVERYWHERE even before the bible ever came to be. I'm confused about what "laws" you are trying to put into a good light. Our country, as far as my opinion goes, was better right when it was founded than it is now. (aside from slavery) This may be because of all the different people matriculating in from different religions and cultures.. but our laws keep changing to accommodate them and giving us less and less freedom. The bible wasnt written for a country, it was written for the reader to take from it a way to live that ultimately allows for a better life for you and the people around you.

  • I'm confused as to why you think that those bit of information were anything but common sense 'bro'. And if you think the laws of then are better than now, then you really don't understand progress. As far as the "-blam!-ed up laws", of the ones you gave, all of them were perfectly reasonable, so I gave you some truly messed up ones. All of those things happened yeah. Why? Because people are strange. People were less educated, and people were less tolerant. But you continue living in that bubble of ignorance. Maybe one day people will actually take interest in how your views are indescribably unintelligent.

  • The laws were better then as opposed to now. Maybe you dont see it happening but it slowly is, and it might not even be "laws" that's affecting us but people's sense of right and wrong is changing and slowly the line is growing wider and wider until there will not be a clear difference..Do you think its ok to cheat on your lover? Our "laws" do. As far as "assisted suicide" that you denied was legal, they are working towards that in our country and it is already legal in other countries to "euthanize" people older than 16 for practically no good reasons other than they want to, as well as children who are already born if the family does not want them or children with certain defects and or diseases since they do not own a "self awareness" yet and cannot provide for themselves a "good" life. Either way, we cant help what happens to "rules" around us but if you stick by them as your "guardian" and your "bible" and take pride in them as you did, then you are putting your faith into something that was corrupted from the start, people.
