New Jersey has some of the tightest gun control.
Including requiring an unconstitutional License *just* to purchase a weapon, Including federal and state background checks, AND multiple mental health references.
And that's Just for rifles/shotguns. It's even harder to purchase a handgun. And nearly impossible to get a CHL.
But it all failed. It was PURELY by luck. That it was not a bloodbath. The shooter's intent was not to kill people, or even hurt them. He passed by multiple groups of people. Instead of shooting them, he simply fired at other random objects.
If he wanted to, he could have slaughtered dozens of people. None of them could protect themselves.
Kalifjornia also has some of the tighest ( and unconstitutional ) gun control. Yet it was again by luck that the LAX shooter did not want to kill random people. Only TSA agents.
What do we do?

People go to gun lax states and shoot up a place in a strict gun control state. If gun control was country wide the problem will no longer be a problem. A shooting in America is more frequent than somebody getting killed in a Warzone, less American soldiers died in the last 10 years compared too civilian deaths in the same time frame by guns. That's a goddam problem.
