New Jersey has some of the tightest gun control.
Including requiring an unconstitutional License *just* to purchase a weapon, Including federal and state background checks, AND multiple mental health references.
And that's Just for rifles/shotguns. It's even harder to purchase a handgun. And nearly impossible to get a CHL.
But it all failed. It was PURELY by luck. That it was not a bloodbath. The shooter's intent was not to kill people, or even hurt them. He passed by multiple groups of people. Instead of shooting them, he simply fired at other random objects.
If he wanted to, he could have slaughtered dozens of people. None of them could protect themselves.
Kalifjornia also has some of the tighest ( and unconstitutional ) gun control. Yet it was again by luck that the LAX shooter did not want to kill random people. Only TSA agents.
What do we do?
-
That's because Jersey can't do anything right. Y'all should just go back to being a part of Pennsylvania.
-
How do I like posts on bnet mobile?
-
Does this mean we should have no gun control or looser regulations?
-
We need Gun Control. Could you imagine if the guns were uncontrollable? They'd just fire randomly and shit.
-
What difference does it make if there is tight gun control in one state when you can probably buy them from Walmart a few miles away in a different state?
-
Fun fact: neither does more guns
-
-
The mall shooter stole it from his brother. Does gun ownership not work?
-
People go to gun lax states and shoot up a place in a strict gun control state. If gun control was country wide the problem will no longer be a problem. A shooting in America is more frequent than somebody getting killed in a Warzone, less American soldiers died in the last 10 years compared too civilian deaths in the same time frame by guns. That's a goddam problem.

Why do you guys keep falling for this shit?!
-
People think guns are the problem. Guns are not the problem, they are a symptom. Gun control is like morphine, makes the pain go away, not the wound. Perhaps if we focused on reducing the reasons for crime, such as reducing the number of gangs that exist in the U.S., then maybe we'd see actual results. People can buy weapons illegally to use for crimes, but they won't if they don't have a desire to commit a crime.

Edited by M37h3w3: 11/6/2013 8:20:03 PM
What do we do?
[sarcasm] I think it's obvious. If bad and misguided forms of gun control don't work then that means that all gun control doesn't fundamentally work and as such we should revoke all forms of gun control. Because selling guns to crazies and felons is a much better solution. [/sarcasm] I would call this a straw man argument except for the fact that you didn't setup the straw man. What should we do? Revoke bad forms of gun control that aren't working (sounds like most of NJ's laws, the 'assault weapon' bans, etc) but stop the asinine crusade against gun control as a concept.
-
Oh, another one? Why don't you add religion in there as well?
-
Lets ban New Jersey
-
Trying to control drugs did not work, trying alcohol prohibition did not work, why will Gun control suddenly work?
-
All adults in good mental health should be required to carry a handgun wherever they go, with certain exceptions. Then no one would have the guts to attempt a public shooting.
-
I'd prefer to have someone who actually knows how to control a gun rather than someone who has absolutely no experience in holding a gun.
-
Hey it's this thread.....again
-
ban salted rifles that go into place with shoulder things that go up(and reach your intestines). ban stealing things.
-
Make it tougher on those who have illegal weapons.
-
Of course not. Gun control almost always makes things worse.

Sell bongs instead of guns
