Ok so what you are saying is that If im at my job and tell a random female about my first time with a chick or some dirty joke then I shouldn't get fired because i'm just treating everyone fairly............you have to understand that you can't just treat random girls like they are your best friend. If some random guys in my game crack a sex joke I might find it funny. If my male co-worked crack a sex joke then I might find it funny, but if I tell the same joke to a chick do you really expect the girl to receive the joke the same way.

 •
According to Simon Blackburn, although the Golden Rule "can be found in some form in almost every ethical tradition", the rule is "sometimes claimed by Christianity as its own".[51] The "Golden Rule" has been attributed to Jesus of Nazareth, though he himself uses it to summarize the Old Testament: "Do to others what you want them to do to you. This is the meaning of the law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets" (Matthew 7:12, see also Luke 6:31). The common English phrasing is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". A similar form appeared in a Catholic catechism around 1567 (certainly in the reprint of 1583).[52] The Golden Rule also has roots in the two old testament edicts, found in Leviticus 19:18 ("Forget about the wrong things people do to you, and do not try to get even. Love your neighbor as you love yourself."; see also Great Commandment) and Leviticus 19:34 ("But treat them just as you treat your own citizens. Love foreigners as you love yourselves, because you were foreigners one time in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."). The Old Testament Deuterocanonical books of Tobit and Sirach, accepted as part of the Scriptural canon by Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodoxy, and the Non-Chalcedonian Churches, also express a negative form of the golden rule: "Do to no one what you yourself dislike." —Tobit 4:15 "Recognize that your neighbor feels as you do, and keep in mind your own dislikes." —Sirach 31:15 At the time of Hillel, an elder contemporary of Jesus of Nazareth, the negative form of the golden rule already must have been proverbial, perhaps because of Tobit 4:15. When asked to sum up the entire Torah concisely, he answered: "That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn." —Talmud, Shabbat 31a Two passages in the New Testament quote Jesus of Nazareth espousing the golden rule: Matthew 7:12 Do to others what you want them to do to you. This is the meaning of the law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets. Luke 6:31 Do to others what you would want them to do to you. A similar passage, a parallel to the Great Commandment, is Luke 10:25-28 25And one day an authority on the law stood up to put Jesus to the test. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to receive eternal life?” 26What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you understand it?” 27He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength and with all your mind.’(Deuteronomy 6:5) And, ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ ” 28“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do that, and you will live.”. The passage in the book of Luke then continues with Jesus answering the question, "Who is my neighbor?", by telling the parable of the Good Samaritan, indicating that "your neighbour" is anyone in need.[53] Jesus' teaching, however, goes beyond the negative formulation of not doing what one would not like done to themselves, to the positive formulation of actively doing good to another that, if the situations were reversed, one would desire that the other would do for them. This formulation, as indicated in the parable of the Good Samaritan, emphasises the needs for positive action that brings benefit to another, not simply restraining oneself from negative activities that hurt another. Taken as a rule of judgment, both formulations of the golden rule, the negative and positive, are equally applicable.[54] In one passage of the New Testament Paul the Apostle refers to the golden rule: Galatians 5:14 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
A little history lesson for your group stepping ass

 • Okay. I am Christian, and I am not trying I judge and I can admit as humans we are all judging but it also states " judge not least ye be judged!" And by saying that those that don't agree with you are wrong you are judging. But to each their own :)

 •
sometimes claimed by Christianity as its own
True, christianity has claimed more things from other cultures. Christmas for example. The only thing you just did was posting some biblical texts. Nothing "history" about that.

 • That's because there are so many versions of the Golden Rule. Ok time to put you down. You first said that I was bringing up Jesus and
Plus, the bible said: "Don't do anything to other's that you don't want to be done to yourself"
. When I called you out for being wrong you then changed your argument to religions world wide. I think we are done here.

 •
changed your argument to religions world wide.
No. I just think bringing in religion is retarded as fuck. But if that floats your little autistic boat, that's okay.

 • Yeah and that's where your logic is flawed. You can't threat each random person the way they want to be treated. You have to be smart and figure that people want to be treated with respect.

 • So you're telling me people don't want to be treated with respect? I said treat them the way they wanted to be treated, most likely they want to be treated with respect. You said treat them the way you want to be treated, but not everyone wants to be treated like you. They have different tastes and opinions. Do you see my point and the major flaw in your argument?

 • Yes because not everyone will tell you how they want to be treated. It's not like I start each match by saying "ok everyone, I want to be treated with respect." How stupid would I look. You treat everyone the way you would want to be treated. Like I said before, your logic is flawed.

 • No, my logic isn't flawed. Everyone agrees with me. I'm not telling you to say you want to be respected, just respect other. I for one know that I don't want to be treated the way you want to be treated. We are two very different people, that's a fact. Maybe you're incapable of figuring out how other people would want to be treated (with respect and whatnot), I understand that now. You think everyone is the same, except females, they should be treated like princesses. I hope you understand that I'm insulting you, but just incase you may take this as conformation of such. I don't plan on muting you because I want to see you understand what I mean. I'm not mad that you don't, it's a strange concept for some because of the world we live in. You have to understand that no one else in the world is like you, you are unique and in that regard alone. If you only treat people the way you want to be treated then you aren't treating them as the diverse individual that they are. Treat them with respect until you get a notion of who they are. If they are an idiot, treat them as such; if they are a troll, treat them as such; if they are a genuine person who is trying to have fun, treat them as such. That's honestly why I enjoy B.net. We all come here for the stats but stay for the lame jokes. We now understand that we are all different and we respect each other for that. Yes, we get into arguments and yes, we disagree, but we still have that mutual respect that this site thrives off of. I do hope you understand what I mean at some point soon because if you don't you'll be chewed out. Some people are quite close on this site, they'd even call each other friends. We're a tight-knit community that doesn't tend to stand for discrimination, even when someone doesn't realise that they are discriminating people. I hope you'll take my meanings soon.

You are suggesting that you don't want to be treated with respect. That you only want to treat people the way that they want to be treated which means that you are going to be asking every person "how do you want me to treat you?" How retarded is that. How much since does that make. Instead of assuming that everyone is going to expect to be treated with respect, you want to ask them just to make sure. I mean I hate arguing with unintelligent people like you on this site who keep on saying "oh well you don't need to treat females any differently then males. Yeah sorry but that's bullshit. Society as a whole tends to treat women differently then men. This is not shocking seeing how women are not men. You are trying to group everyone in one big pot and say that no one is different and that's what is so RETARDED about your argument.
I don't plan on muting you because I want to see you understand what I mean. I'm not mad that you don't, it's a strange concept for some because of the world we live in. If they are an idiot, treat them as such; if they are a troll, treat them as such; if they are a genuine person who is trying to have fun, treat them as such.
Clearly you don't read the Bible or even go to church, because if you did then you would know that there is one saying that rings throughout Christianity and the world, "Do on to others the way you would have them do onto you." This is the golden rule for LIFE my friend. You treat people the way that you would like to be treated. So if you want to be treated with respected then you treat everyone around you with respect.
Treat them with respect until you get a notion of who they are. If they are an idiot, treat them as such; if they are a troll, treat them as such; if they are a genuine person who is trying to have fun, treat them as such.
This is -blam!-ed up in so many ways. You don't drop down to a troll's level. You be the bigger man and continue to be respectful. Why you are suggesting is something that would start wars. Something like that has start wars. You don't be an asshole because someone is being an asshole. How does that fix anything. How does that make a situation better. It doesn't and that's why your logic is FLAWED.
That's honestly why I enjoy B.net. We all come here for the stats but stay for the lame jokes. We now understand that we are all different and we respect each other for that. Because that's what we come to expect, but if you are using B.net as an outlier for society as a whole then you are crazy. This place is dysfunctional. With troll everywhere and people arguing just because. There is no mutual respect here. People come here a treat others like crap for no good reason. This place is crazy, but that's a good thing because it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be a madhouse of ideas and arguments. A melting port of different people and different ideas. Respect here is not given and earned and sometimes never showed at all. That's what B.net is. So to end this. I'm not going to agree with your messed up logic because there is no way in hell that I could.
