For those of you who are unaware, Comet Ison is a huge comet that'll be making it's closest approach to Earth around December. Many scientists consider this comet the "Comet of the Century" and that it'll be as bright as the moon. Oddly enough, we are getting absolutely NOTHING from high-end astronomers or from any govt's. Most of the info and analyses you can find on the internet are from amateur astronomers, and the lack of transparency is concerning them.. Ison just passed by Mars on Oct 1st, which countries like USA, Europe, Japan, China and Russia all have satellites orbiting Mars... Yet, none of them are releasing any information, not even a single picture... It's a little troubling considering this event is a once in a life time opportunity, so there's no doubt these govt's and professional astronomers with high tech observatories are watching this thing day in and day out. So why the silence? Why aren't they releasing any information to the public? Is there something they don't want us to know? Maybe Ison is not even worthy of disclosure(pfft)? Discuss.
