So last night I marathoned from start to finish, back to back, Madoka Magica.
Why the Hell is this anime so popular? I'm the guy who has analyzed Evangelion episode by episode by I can't see where people are coming from with the whole "HURR 2DEEP4U" bullshit. It's a good show, it's great, but in terms of depth and character interaction, it certainly isn't anywhere near Eva.
This show is highly over rated. Anyone care to explain why this show keeps getting 10/10 everywhere?
Also, -blam!- the ending. Why didn't Madoka just make that wish earlier since everyone seemed to have suffered being a magical girl.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Don't look at it like Evangelion as some deep, ERMAHRMAHGEHRDSYMBOLISM sort of thing, or a character driven sort of thing. It's akin to Evangelion in that it's a dark satire of it's respective genre. In the case of Madoka, it takes the Magical Girl genre and flips it on it's head, making it darker and grimmer over time than the usual cheerful, bubbly cheesecake that's the norm of the genre.
