Edited by GKR: 9/5/2013 10:38:44 PMMy name, Fëanor Curufinwë, comes from one of the chief characters in The Silmarillion. His actions started the events that would shape the history of Middle-earth throughout the ages. My motto is a quote from Fëanor. Long story short: Fëanor's race, the Noldorin Elves, decided to leave Valinor, the Undying Lands, and return to Middle-earth after the dark lord Morgoth destroyed the Two Trees of Valinor (the only sources of light for the world before the sun and moon, which held what little light remained from them). His two half-brothers Fingolfin and Finarfin joined him in exile, but Finarfin turned back with his followers out of fear of judgment from the Valar. They came across a city of sea-faring elves, the Teleri, and slaughtered them to steal their ships for easier passage to Middle-earth's shores. However, Fëanor betrayed his half-brother Fingolfin by taking all of the ships for himself and his followers. Because of Fëanor's treachery, Fingolfin and his followers had no choice but to cross the deadly frozen wastelands to the far north in order to reach Middle-earth. Once Fëanor and his followers had arrived in Middle-earth, he was asked if he would send any ships to his half-brother. My motto is his response.
