In some of my lurking moments on Bungie.net, I have noticed a fairly prominent split in how people see Bungie.next and Bungie.old.
Brand new users, those who have joined since the Destiny reveal trailer, or even since E3 seem to view Bungie.next as just another normal website with a cool community. Even more so, they see anyone who has been here for a while (say, '10) as crotchety old timers overwhelmed with nostalgia for the "good ol' days."
On the other hand, those same old users (never thought I'd call a '10 old...) lament the loss of what they believe made Bungie.old their home on the Internet. I confess that I am a member of that group, but that's neither here nor there. Somehow, we cannot get the point across to the newer users that Bungie.old was gloriously different from other places, but now I am digressing into rambling nostalgia.
So for newer users, I am curious. How do you see Bungie.next?
For older users, are you happy here? Or do you find yourself drifting away, as though the tether has been cut?
For really old users ('04 and before) did you notice a similar split in thinking during the arrival of the New Hawtness?

Edited by Avatar_Moss: 9/1/2013 3:29:22 AMAs what you would classify as an old member ('08) I would say I have been drifting away from this site. I don't know what caused it. It could have been the redesign into a twitter-like website, the new members, or the fact I just don't see the old members as much as I used to. All I know is that it doesn't feel "right", it's as if I don't belong to this community anymore. Idk it's probably just me.
