Destiny is building up suspense and making it so people want to play the game when they hold back information. CoD, on the other hand, gives everything, like you said. But that completely ruins the experience if playing! You know exactly what to expect because CoD is telling you everything! Destiny, by not telling you everything, makes it so that when you play, you have no idea what to expect. And that is fun.
