What would it take to make you a Christian? (non-theists)

The point was raised in HM Rob's thread, in a strange manner that didn't work so well. So here's a direct question for the atheists of Secular Sevens; what would it take for you to become a Christian?

  • I'm already a moderate Roman Catholic, but Catholicism is a sect of Christianity. Honestly, I was a die-hard Catholic until I went to college. While I'm religious, I'd love to see more of what those people preach. They preach happiness and love and equality for everyone. Yet, when the subject of gay marriage or anyone who is gay pops up, they treat them like shit or say that they don't deserve it. Again, I'm religious, I'm Catholic, but I would love to see religious people stop acting like hypocrites. This is a broad generalization, but from my personal experience, I'd say it's justified to label Catholics (At least, from my parish) as hypocritical douchebags.

    • Where I live, Catholics are very intolerant towards you if you're not white or heterosexual unless you're working for them or working with them. Gay people here are vocally told they aren't welcome. And this city is in California. There's a reason why I want to move out of this city and move down south.
