That depends on what you mean by "hell". I've heard Christians define it as a literal pit of fire and/or torture chamber, and others simply say it was a way to explain not being "close to God".

I'm sure there are physical aspects to hell as well but I think it's just mostly the absence of God. Probably constant feelings of regret and self pity and those crappy depressing feelings on what you should have done or why you shouldn't be there. I don't know, I've never been... I don't want to find out though.

Then I would have to say I would not have any regrets at all. If new evidence comes to light in the future, well... there's not much I can do about that, but I would stand firm in my conviction that I made the best decision at the time. Let me ask you this: if you were a passenger on a plane that crashed and everyone aboard died, yourself included, assuming you were still able to think after you died, would you regret your decision in boarding the plane, even though nobody knew at that time it would crash?

It may not be logical to regret boarding the plane, but you probably would anyway. People often regret things that they had no control over. And even if you don't regret getting on the plane, there would be many other things you would regret.

Trying to use logical fallacies and shifting the topic when he wasn't smart enough to answer it directly. Can't blame you since your first reply was logically inconsistent and just made you look foolish.

I promise you you would have many regrets. Of course I would regret boarding the plane! Knowing that my life, my one chance to live, was cut short because I took a wrong turn would suck! Don't tell me you wouldn't feel the same. I wouldn't sit back and say it was a good run, I'd be freakin pissed. Assuming there's no heaven or hell and I'm just a drifting consciousness. If I were going somewhere after then I wouldn't be as upset.
I promise you you would have many regrets.
Like what?
Of course I would regret boarding the plane! Knowing that my life, my one chance to live, was cut short because I took a wrong turn would suck!
Even though you believe you made the most informed decision at the time?

Trying to pretend he didn't see my post when that's the only reason he came back to the thread. A mind like ten year old clockwork.
