Everything except for the last one is also true about Halo. Stop working in generalizations you ignorant child.
-
You could make vague comparisons like that between any two games. This means nothing. Although Bungie themselves have stated that they would be foolish not to look to games like Borderlands for inspiration. Regardless, Borderlands is a great game(s), so why do you say that like it's a bad thing?
-
Those things, and the gameplay of Halo

I have a great idea for you folks that want to sit around and compare games to Destiny. You want something 'different'? Go make it yourself pos. You're complaining bc you just want to complain and be a troll? Just slit your wrists and do everyone else a favor.
-
- Built for co-op. - Skill trees. - Large number of weapons/gear. That's about it for distinct differences. Everything else isn't exactly tied to Borderlands.
>set in 'space'
Really? First of all, BL2 isn't set in space, and second of all, most Sci Fi related games are. Wait a minute... your good.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking! It's like borderlands with better graphics a different setting and storyline, and made by Bungie. But I'm hoping it'll be a million times better than borderlands.

Destiny = Bngie's Skyrim >Open World check >rpg elements check >Character customization check >Races check (I mean they almost copied the khajit with tigerman, annd an awoken is basically a dark elf) >armor check >loot check

Yep, and I can't wait ! The concept of Borderlands 2 is awesome, and will be even better in Destiny.

Not just the heads and guns. •Set in multiple planets I'm not saying that its not borrowing ideas from borderland. It's taking some great ideas from it. But you could say that borderlands I doing the same. It's borrowed from and standard FPS you can think of and diablo I & II. Which games do you think invented the grey, white, green, blue, purple and yellow items in the first place with random stats. Borderlands 1 & 2 is just Diablo with guns and its an SCI-FI FPS.

Actually, Borderlands was the best description I could give of Destiny to my friend, except with a hidden matchmaking system that actively runs in the background. I've never actually played Borderlands, but as far as I know, it doesn't have that. Regardless, I'm still excited for the game. The game mechanics might be similar to other games, but that doesn't mean they won't be fun. Mechanics are only half of it anyway. It's still going to have a unique story and deep lore, done in a way that only Bungie can do.

Edited by Procelyte: 8/12/2013 2:47:45 AM...Yes, it is. It's Bungie's take on Borderlands (a game which had a good concept but did a lot of things wrong). No shit. They're just making an entry into the shoot and loot genre. What, because somebody made a racing game before, nobody else is allowed to make them? Seriously OP. It's a shoot and loot game. Is that... wrong? It's not like the ripped the (horrible) story and (horrible) characters from it. Plus Destiny will have more features than Borderlands. Do you meet up with other fireteams in Borderlands? Do you hear the gunshots of a public event off in the distance? Does Borderlands have public events, where you team up with 10 or more players? Does Borderlands have awesome Bungie competitive multiplayer? Does Borderlands have FULL character customization? No? Didn't think so. Take you're hate somewhere else, child.
-
Why do you do this. Why is this so bad of a problem you have to make a post about it. Just keep it to your self. If it is to much of a problem I recommend you don't get destiny
-
I agree they are very similar but they will have their differences as well.
-
Because Borderlands is an original concept? wtf.
-
annnnnnnnnd the same guy who said Destiny = Halo made by Bungie and being a tard. 0/10 you tried it before and failed. Dont try again
-
How many times are you gonna post something like this...
-
Thanks Bungie, I really loved Borderlands 2, that is until they started to milk it for all its worth. If you have so completely ripped Borderlands off Bungie, could you do me a favor and hire the voice actor who did Tiny Tina, she was an absolute scream - really made that game for me. Maybe she could be the voice of the Traveller.
-
You know Bungie said they got a lot of ideas from games such as Borderlands and Farcry 3. Your points can be taken, but if you look at a lot of your arguments they took these things and made it their own. Added their own twist to make it (in a sense) feel new, innovative, and different. Not to say there is still a lot of features from the game we haven't seen.

Borderlands has space ma-- wait... that's only Destiny... but Borderland has the last sa-- wait... that's only Destiny... Borderlands has Gho-- wait... that's only Destiny.. Borderlands has space tra--- wait... that's Destiny again... sorry sir.. I intended to make your list longer but.. I find none...
-
Even if you're right, I fail to see the problem. Bungie's version of borderlands? Awesome.
-
Correction: Destiny= Cod+Halo
-
Destiny > Borderlands
-
Even if it does, it's a lot better than Borderlands.
