Bullying in Destiny

Bullying is a serious issue that can cause to real world harm both physical and emotional. I have seen many homophobic and other similar posts on this forum so I am concerned. What if someone like that actually does play the game and their sexuality is known? I am interested in seeing what Bungie will do to combat bullying in Destiny, as it has a large social focus so there are bound to be many incidents in such a large community.

  • Yeah I get a bit miffed when people start shouting homophobic or racist words because they have the veil of anonymity. I do hope that it ends up better in the game than on the forums. I do think that at this point the forums are overcome with people making ridiculously irrelevant requests that are eliciting over the top responses. I think both groups are to blame for this. Before requesting something, think about how practical it would be in an action shooter, or even if you could use your imagination to fill in the gap. If it is practical, and your imagination simply won't be enough, post a request thread. Before responding to a thread: think. That is really all it takes. Stop and think of what it would be like if you or some close friend of yours was the victim of what you are about to write. Rant over: sorry.
