Corpses on Mt. Everest used as waypoints.
Instead of recovering those who failed to climb Mt. Everest, other hikers just use their corpses as waypoints.

I don't see why everyone freaks out when they learn this. As you can see from all the dead climbers, it's pretty hard to climb Everest without ending up as an icecube yourself. It's even harder to carry the dead weight of frozen corpse back down yourself. There's simply no way to remove them.
