There are rampant issues of sexism, racism and general bigotry in this forum, and what does the bungie employee suggest? Mute those people. That's laughable. I scroll down this thread, and I see shitpost after shitpost saying "Well if you didn't want to be treated like this, you shouldn't say you're ______, or you shouldn't post pictures of yourself, or you shouldn't do this, or that". No. Believing that anyone should withhold information because other people can't handle it? That's bullshit, and if you believe that, you are an asshole.

    It's not necessarily the fact that she shouldn't be doing it. It's all fine and dandy with me if she decides to unveil her anonymity over a website, because I couldn't care less. What urks me though is that she seems adamant for not accepting the repercussions of that decision. If I had a magic wand that could wish away all the jerks treating her like this, I would, but I can't, and neither can she. So making a bitchfest thread trying to solve that issue is only going to do the exact opposite.

  • She is accepting the repercussions of her decisions though, or at least I assume so. I can't speak for Felicia, but she doesn't seem like the kind of person to say "oh I shouldn't have posted this". But if another user goes and posts her pictures around this forum? That's out of line, and she has every right to not accept those repercussions, because she didn't put herself in that situation. That is asshattery at it's finest. I'm just assuming here, but I think she's more irked that people post her pictures and talk shit about her when she's not even involved in the thread or post (felicia, tell me if I'm wrong). I've seen when she posts pictures and some people say shitty things like "lel ugly -20000/10" or whatever, and I know that's also annoying. Being on the internet though, you've got to expect some assholes waiting for opportunities to strike.

    The thread wasn't even about me. Hold on, I've already mentioned this;
simply because I don't agree with people's behavior and the fact they feel like it's okay to do so online, doesn't mean I've been hurt personally by it. I understand the consequences when posting a picture of myself. When I'm not in the mood to witness or deal with these comments I know will follow, I don't post them. Someones I enjoy to post a picture and see all the silly reactions, because while they may be sitting there laughing (which I doubt is the case for ALL), by imaging me being upset, I'm laughing at how they're acting like they've even see a girl in their life. I just get dumbfounded by the fact they think such hurtful comments are okay, but that doesn't mean I'm naive enough to be hurt by them.

People are assuming I made this thread for myself, when in fact it isn't me I'm worried about, but others. I know the difference, but not everyone else do. Perhaps my extreme amount of empathy for others is just coming out, but I hate knowing such comments could make another upset. It's why no matter how much people insult me, I'd never resort to insulting them back. I could, but I wouldn't want to actually risk hurting them. Perhaps they're insulting me because of their own insecurities and why would I wish to make that worse? We've all went through nasty phases, I'm not going to hold that agasint anyone. We all grow up and mature.
I could make a thread about racism, saying how it isn't right, but that doesn't mean it affects me personally nor hurts me. I made this thread for pointing out something which isn't right, plan and simple. Not for others to discuss how I need to "get some balls".

  • Yeah I was just responding to Krypton, who said that he was more annoyed that you weren't accepting the repercussions of your decisions.

  • Well she did make them public for everyone to access. If I unlock my house when I leave for work, then all my shit gets stolen, I take full responsibility for leaving my house so accessible for burglary. Is it technically my fault? Sort of. Essentially it was the burglars, but I should've taken precautions to avoid a situation like that occurring. The same applies here.

  • I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think that's a bad way to look at it. The situation is more like an open house. You're invited in, you can look at the house, but you can't take anything(let's ignore that it's technically theft and thus illegal) for yourself. You're free to have an opinion about the house, but instead of saying "this house is complete shit, I would never take it", you would say something more along the lines of "it's not quite what we're looking for".

  • You're so naive. There are practically no consequences for being rude on the internet, and you expect people to be on their best behavior? Hell no. It's the same reason people post silly shit, because nobody takes an internet forum seriously, unless somebody is having a serious discussion.

  • I expect assholes, idiots, bigots, and every shitty person you can imagine on the internet. I know they're out there, and I detest them. These assholes who seek validation by tearing down others should not however be justified because "nobody takes an internet forum seriously". Clearly, as displayed by this and many other similar threads, some people do. People post silly shit because they don't give a shit. And that's fine for them, but if a user, let's use Felicia as an example, doesn't want their pictures circulating the site without their permission, then they have every right to give a shit when some assholes decide to do exactly that. Especially when after start to trash her openly. She can't mute them either because different people do it every day.

  • Or, if she had the self confidence she pretends to have, she could laugh at them and go on about her day. She lacks class. She got all pissy and emotional instead of ignoring them or even writing something witty to make them feel bad.
