Spread your wings. (Fan Fiction Contest)

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come for us writers to take center stage for a time. The Black Garden as well as our friends over in Arts and Stuff are going to host a contest that is solely devoted to writers. The rules are simple. For any who wish to enter, you are tasked with writing a short little anecdote that is to have a maximum of 300 words. The location for this piece of work is to be located in the picture provided above. The deadline for entering is this Sunday(14th) at midnight. For any who wish to enter, please submit your stories by placing them in the comments. Judging will be done in two phases. The first phase will consist of a Panel of both groups reading over each story and deciding which seven are the best of the best. Once the first stage is complete, we shall hand it over to you, the audience, to decide who is ranked number one as lore master. The Winner of this contest shall receive a print of the Buried City signed by the Destiny writing team. Good luck and Be Brave.

 • Dayonis Station The fetid maw of a Legionnaire loomed out of the darkness. Before it could make a sound or draw its shield, the Titan thrust his knife between its four spiked “teeth” and silenced it. For the hundredth time, he cursed whatever had beaten humanity into submission and allowed their colonies to fall to these alien scum. Above all, he cursed the overwhelming Cabal presence that necessitated stealth. How was he supposed to locate some defensive artifact from Mars without firing a gun? This should have been a Hunter’s job. With that thought the Titan emerged from the rusted industrial structure and was greeted by orange dunes littered with decomposing structures and encroaching shrub life. As he crept into the open expanse, the unmistakable bellow of a Centurion split the air. Through a shimmering heat wave, the Titan could see the colossal behemoth backed by several Legionnaires. He ran. A dilapidated structure materialized ahead of the sprinting Titan. DAYONIS STATION. That was good. He knew stations, and this one might offer weapons, a ship, and a place to hide. A heavily-armored squad of Cabal in hot pursuit, the Titan sprinted down a walkway. Just as he reached the innards of the building, it lit up with an ethereal aqua glow and a droning hum rocked the structure. He knew he was screwed – a Cabal dropship carried enough firepower to level the entire station. Suddenly a metallic tube screamed towards the Titan. He hurled himself sideways as the contraption launched itself out the entrance and toward the alien troop, pulverizing them. A melodic voice announced, “Train A has docked at Dayonis Station. Enjoy your stay.” The Traveler must be with him today. The Titan realized he’d discovered some relic of human travel, a potential gain for the Guardians of the Last City.
