Player Controlled Economy. Yay or nay?

A big part of open world games is the economy in them, while I think we can all agree that Pay2Win is a bad feature, what about spending in-game currency on player acquired items. Such as an auction house, or maybe you can rent out a shop space with in-game currency so there is not always a guarantee that you will make a profit, forcing players to be more reasonable with their prices. Some people would prefer an AI run economy or no buying of items at all, but I think it's a needed feature. Agree or disagree?

  • I have no problem with a player controlled auction house, but there is one catch. I hope Bungie (AH or Not) doesn't artificially shrink the drop rate of the high end items. If the game truly isn't an MMO then it shouldn't take you a month of Sundays to acquire the items you seek through raiding. If legendary/epic items don't have a tremendously slow drop rate then AH being player controlled wont matter since it would be only slightly less convenient to go grab your own. This form of AH/economy could actually be beneficial for alternate characters because you can just buy equipment great for your level and move on.
