Honestly, I found that video to be highly stupid. Extra Credit either just does not get what people mean when they're talking about a game being fun or is getting way too bogged down in the actual meaning of the word rather than what people mean when they're using it. Games are ranked as "fun" when people find them enjoyable, it's not about making every single game something crazy or zany like Mario Kart, it's about what people find to enjoy in the game....and enjoyment goes for [i]all[/i] types of games. Even the most depressing, tragic, or horrifying story can still be enjoyable, and that is exactly what people mean when they're talking about something being fun or not, whether they enjoy it. If a game is not engaging or keeping it's players interested in the story or the gameplay, if the players are not emotionally invested in any of it, then it's not something that they find fun. And something being "fun" does not exclude horrifying or depressing things happening in it. Black Ops for instance, overall a fun game, yet filled with all kinds of horrifying events happening in it. The goal of a game is to keep your audience interested, engaged, and involved with what you're trying to sell them, if you fail at those, the audience is not going to find any fun in that game and not play or buy it.
