Fanboy Test: The PS4 is...

...the poor man's Xbox One. Read this very carefully. It should come to no surprise that the PS4 is the poor man's Xbox One. Many people have made it apparently clear that they will buy a PS4 because it's cheaper overall. Among those reasons is that they want to buy used games (cheaper), and don't or can't afford good internet (being cheap). Like I thought, this concludes that the PS4 is hardware for people who are younger and don't have jobs. Sure enough, they'll receive their PS4 on Christmas as a gift. Obviously, it should come to no surprise that the Xbox One in this regard is a luxury product that offers a wider variety of entertainment and games, for those who are willing to spend more on a better product. Beyond the scope of a year, the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 once and surpass it with no problem. Ultimately, I find that Microsoft has a better plan of success for the future, and Sony will just copy it like they always do. You can't deny how much Sony copies just to get ahead. In the past, we've seen them take every idea from their competitors and try to 1up them. No one can deny that one of the key things Sony lacks is innovation. Granted, the only good thing they came up with was the original PS. Already, we see the Xbox overtaking the PS4 in sales. Please, just do yourself a favor and spend a few more for a better product. Soon enough everyone will just laugh at you for having a PS4 while we all enjoy superior gaming and entertainment. 4 generations of PS is enough of the same philosophy. Thoughts? EDIT: The test has concluded. As I suspected, awareness goes out the window in these arguments. It wasn't a troll thread because the answers were right in front of you all over the post. The correct answer was reply, however, was Popcorn. Hint 1: The thread title did day Fanboy Test (to test how much of what was said bothered you or how much of what was said you agreed to bash the other side). Hint 2: I DID say to read the post VERY carefully. Hint 3: there is a period in the post linked to an image. That image states my position among fanboys. Truthfully, I'm just a gamer, I'm grabbing both consoles, nothing of either console bothers me. Hint 4: If you take the first letter of each sentence, you'll see another message. Those who passed this test: BACE SoapyBarracuda Half point to : Crimson (for including a rant but still finding the link). Everyone else, failed.

 • While I also think that Microsoft will be more successful in the long run, people are currently preferring the PS4 for much more than the price. While the price is certainly a large factor, the internet connectivity, DRM, the lack of disk sharing, and a lot of confusion/misinformation are also contributing to the current PS4 lean. The PS4 is appealing to people that don't live in areas where internet is available (rural US, lots of the rest of the world), people that rely on used games, and people that have both of those things, but think the Microsoft policies would affect them in some regular or semi-regular occurrence (travel, relocation, unreliable connection to ISP). I genuinely think that Sony will try to implement some of these MS things down the line, and will have a difficult time imposing it onto a population that can't necessarily support those changes. Only time will tell, but six years down the line things could very well be different than they are at launch.
