Possibly a really extreme high tech version of 2025 . But remember we as humans don't have the ability to make tech like that in the game. So the traveler arrives and grants us the abilities , therefore we are able to make the tech in such short time.

...Why would it show up, then? I mean, apparently it saved us from the aliens or something, and apparently the aliens only showed up because they want the Traveler to help them. And if the aliens are so badass they can wipe us all out down to one single city, how the -blam!- did the Traveler help at all?

I guess by granting us powers to defeat the aliens

But wouldn't the best thing it could do for us be to [i]leave[/i]? If it's attracting all these aliens because they want it to save them, and they're attacking us to get to the Traveler, why doesn't it just leave so we don't get wiped out?
