How many characters should someone be able to make right off the bat?

So if the Pathways out of Darkness ViDoc is to be taken as proof, you can have more than one character, and it seem likely each would have his/her own name. This is awesome, however one problem arises, I could, in theory, create dozens of characters to snap up the most popular names for later use, so I could make a titan named Achronos, a hunter named DeeJ, and a warlock named Marty. (and many other celebrities) This sort of name squatting isn't terrible when you can add X's and numerals to the name, but if thousands of players do it it could have a rather negative effect on the naming process. What I propose is that you can only make a second/extra character after achieving a certain level on your first character, nothing drastic, just make it so that you need to invest about an hour of play for each character. Thoughts?

I would imagine your character name doesn't have to be unique. If they are named at all. Your Gamertag and whatever PSN has would be what's displayed on your character. Or some combination of the two. So even if you create a character called Achronos. I could also create one, and mine would show up as "Achronos <Nitron F117>"
